Fall Newsletter

Dear Members of HMSRC,

You will be receiving the “official” notice and agenda for the upcoming annual board meeting in the next week or so. Save the date for our annual meeting of the members:

  • When: Monday, November 14, 2016 – Annual Board Meeting
  • Where: At the clubhouse - 10339 Brittenford Dr., Vienna, VA 22182
  • Time: 7:30PM

  1. Our Treasurer, Julie Nichols, will be retiring later this year and we are currently looking for someone to fill that important position. The Club's Treasurer is the primary person assigned responsibility for overseeing the funds, financial records and membership data of the Club. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of QuickBooks and a general understanding of accounting/bookkeeping methods like preparing an annual budget, using electronic bill pay and reviewing invoices from our vendors and volunteers. Julie will help guide you through the initial transition. Plus you will have a seasoned Assistant Treasurer, Huyen Pham to help oversee and review. If interested please call me at 703.447.5577 or come to our next Board meeting on Monday, October 17th at 7:30 PM at the Clubhouse.
  2. The insurance carrier for the club has finally accepted and approved our claim. The entire repair invoice of the pool was paid less our deductible. We have 1 component of the claim still open – our Business Income Loss and this is still being negotiated and should be settled soon. We were able to recover $68,625.00

I wanted to thank everyone for their patience and support this past season. With everything that happened we overcame as a team. It was an honor to see everyone rally and pull together. I wanted to personally thank Michelle DiCintio for reaching out to get the club new swim team practice facilities and usage at other pools for all of our club members while the pool was under repair. To Herb Carmen in his tireless efforts dealing with the contractors from Titan Pool and transitioning a new Guard Staff while making sure we were opened by July 4th. In essence, saving our swim team and pool season. And to all of the other board members, committee chair individuals and club members who stepped in and helped out during this stressful transition. Without any of YOU, we couldn't have pulled this off. A huge thank you.
